Academy goalkeeper David Payne will commence training with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) next week in Brisbane.
David who turns 15 this year was part of the Queensland Metro U14 and U15 teams at the FFA National Youth Championships in 2013 and 2014 and will be looking to secure a place in this years QAS Squad.
The QAS program is designed to identify the talented Under 15 players in Queensland who will make up the QAS Team that will compete at the FFA National Training Centre Challenge (NTC) in Canberra later this year.
This FFA Elite competition brings together each state's elite Institute teams for a week long competition designed to identify the next intake for the Centre Of Excellence Program at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2016 which will make up the next Joeys Squad ( Australian U17 Team).
David is in his 5th year in the Goalkeeping Australia Academy program joining he was 11 and is currently the goalkeeper for the Sunshine Coast Fire NPL U15 Team.
